The CHK number can be located on the S/N sticker by 24 pin power socket.

If you take a look at the barcode sticker on the 24-pin power connector on the motherboard side. there should be a CHK number there.

After I gave up, I tried Google and found your information about the chk code. Thank you!

So. to be clear. If I have already installed the Motherboard, in order to get the CHK number to complete the warranty I need to. remove the MB because the data I need is inconveniently on the back or. B550-A PRO.

Install and use MSI centre to do the registration but it is on the 24 pin plug MSI Serial and CHK locations

What a joke just spent 3 hours building a computer , JUST TO FIND OUT I NEED A CODE CHK THAT I CAN ONLY GET BY TAKING THE COMPUTER APART I JUST BULT . so, for those who are frustrating with the motherboard CHK code after u completed ur build,

just put ur phone alongside the 24 pins and take a photo , at least that’s how I did

This is ridiculous you get past that hurdle and then you meet this message
(E01)Registration failed.
Please check the barcode on the product or enter [ My support ] for further support.
Why on earth do you need more than the Long serial number? What does that even mean please check the barcode on the product? An hour trying to register a product!!

Apparently one can call MSI and speak to a human and complete the registration, at least for a motherboard. I did this earlier and I will respond back if the process failed. It may take a bit of time before it shows up on the product page.

Try the MSI APP on Mobile is way easier to use All you need to do is take photo of invoice wright down check number then open APP select register product take pick of bar code and enter check and add photo of invoice

Sooo this CHK code thing.
I bought an MSI gaming computer back in April and now I’m trying to register it. MSI obviously asks for a CHK code to complete the registration. The PC has lots of CHK codes, one on the 24 pin connector, one on the graphics card, and even one on a sticker on the back of the case. However, on the bottom of the case, where the PC S/N needed for the registration is located, of course there is no CHK code behind the S/N. As a shot in the dark, I have tried all of the other CHK codes and of course the registration fails due to «a wrong CHK code».

So is my only solution now to call MSI directly? Anyone else have this issue?

I have tried that CHK code and the registration doesn’t accept it. The S/N on that sticker on the back isn’t the same as the S/N needed for registration (underneath the case) I assume the sticker on the back could be the S/N for the case.

CHK issues — WHERE is this number?!

This is highly annoying. I cannot register my product and thereby kick in the warranty (which I purchased an additional 2 years of) because I can’t find the «CHK» number by the serial number. I have an «MNK» number but it will not accept that. Surely I’m not the only one who’s run into this issue? I took the side panel off my MSI Aegis 10th (desktop gaming PC) and there’s a CHK by the serial number on the GTX graphics card, but of course it didn’t take that one either. I would appreciate some direction or assistance on this.

I just purchased an MSI Aegis SE10SI-001US and I have the same issue! Also, I have some sort of S/N on the outside of the case but that doesn’t match anything on the box. It’s pretty frustrating!

Just called support and found out that the numbers are on the bottom of the case. Had to power it down and turn it up and take a pic of it. It has the S/N AND the CHK number there. It worked fine to register. Hope this helps someone else.

It’s frustrating how I bought my CPU prebuilt cause I know nothing about PC building. Too scared to take it apart. Looks like I’m gonna hire a technician just to take this thing apart. Extremely inconvenient.

if its a Pre Built PC its usually on the bottom
if its a motherboard its on the side of the 24pin Power Connector
if its a graphics card its usually on the serial number that is just above the x16 PCI-E connection

You can find both 2 S/N through your MSI products. The package box will commonly show the S/N 1 number. But you can find 2nd S/N 2 as a sticker on your product. And also you may have to show your invoice of purchase of your MSI product registration.

I have installed my 3080 Ventus card and do not have access to see the CHK code. So when one can’t use the MHK code on the box to register my product. Then MSI can’t care if users register. I’m not going to disassemble my pc to find this number.

Try to register it via dragon center that can read the numbers for you was how I registered my Motherboard.

To register the product on MSI reward program, you should have S/N numbers with your product.

Where is the CHK number. I bought an MSI MAG321CURV monitor and cannot see anything like another number on the product serial number sticker, which for some reason is on the bottom of the monitor! I must be missing the obvious, please help.

On my video card, it was fortunately near the top edge of the PCB backplane with the LEDs, not near the PCI connector or buried under fans or blocked by the support arm. Still very hard to see as my CPU cooler is pretty big so I had to read at a nearly flat angle with the LEDs in my eyes. [Waah, waah ]

The MSI Center (rebranded Dragon Center) refused to register it for me. Had to restart it even to show a dropdown list of countries for place of purchase.

Wish they’d warn you about this CHK thing with a sticker on the bag with a place to write it down or something like that so you can take care of it before installation.

Плата работает в связке с Intel Core i5-13500. Я специально искал мощный процессор без разгона и B760 TOMAHAWK подошла для него идеально. Все, что от меня требовалось — во первых, обновить биос (до версии A6) и плата сама подобрала нужные настройки для i5-13500. Второе — указать тип системы охлаждения (кулер, башня или СЖО). И все. Никаких танцев бубном!

В итоге в простое для процессора достаточно пассивного охлаждения башни. Кулер включается только в играх и стресс-тестах.

Изначально взял такую же плату на b 660 ddr4 и даже после вскрытия и 10 пройденных дней поменял плату надлежащего качества на эту красотку! Чего магазин был в праве и не делать. ДНС лучший. По плате всë отлично, ножки на сокете все прямые. Собирать планирую в декабре с 12400 и 4070

Радиаторы для m2 ssd(не забывайте снимать наклейку под ними), качественный vrm, хорошее исполнение.

Недостатки

Кривой софт и BIOS(ниже про это), адекватная цена 12-14к.

При первом запуске отказывалось выводиться изображение на монитор, по DP, вынул видеокарту, вставил обратно — изображение появилось, но в BIOS через del зайти не удавалось. Установил систему, при перезагрузке заметил, что подсветка мыши и клавиатуры периодически отключается, секунд на 5 гаснет монитор после загрузки винды. Через винду зашёл в BIOS(зажать шифт и перезагрузку — параметры восстановления — изменение настроек uefi), увидел BIOS от 03.2023, обновил до последней версии и все проблемы ушли. В биос стало заходить с кнопки, usb перестали шакалить, изображение перестало пропадать.
